connecting city kids with the great outdoors

Let’s Go Outdoors relaunches city-wide grant program

i’ve worked with Let’s Go Outdoors and Let’s Go 1-2-3 on various projects since 2022.

during the Little Friends of the Wissahickon grant program re-launch, i shared the following skills:

  • program re-development - reviewed an existing program and brought the magic to make it more child-centered, incorporating movement and games while teaching about the local environment, waterways, and map skills

  • developed teaching tools and strategies based on program goals

  • facilitated collaborative meetings among stakeholders

  • collaborated with multiple community partners to develop an exciting field trip program filled with learning, nature exploration, and open play

  • community event planning and facilitation

  • developed marketing materials and implemented an outreach strategy that connected thousands of philly kids to the program

other projects i’ve worked on include:

  • outreach and engagement strategy and implementation that connected hundreds of high schoolers to a environmental career development program

  • community partnership and engagement coordination

  • designing tabling exhibits and community environmental ed activities

  • land stewardship including clean ups, community gardening, beautification, and more.

“teacher hannah, are these real trees?!” exclaimed an excited 7 year old who had never been to the forest before

these orgs do amazing work reducing barriers to accessing nature and fostering deep relationships between people and their local environment.
