1-1 coaching
overview of creative coaching
i believe in your wisdom and brilliance and want to help you take your dreamiest vision and make it a reality. we’ll work together in a flexible way that meets your creative needs. you don’t need people telling you what to do, you need folks who will lovingly hold you accountable to your heart, helping you stay motivated and inspired. throughout our partnership, i’ll support you to:
trust your inner knowing of who you are and what you are most passionate about right now
relinquish feelings of “imposter syndrome,” trusting that consistent practice creates the pathway
hone your broader interests, passions, and ideas into actionable project plans
develop a personal vision statement, as well as small and large goals and step-by-step plans for ushering your idea(s) into the world
develop reflection practices around what is and isn’t working, failure and redirection, motivation and distraction, as well as making creative adaptations as needed
redefine failure as a key learning tool (failure lets us know we are taking risks beyond our comfort zone! that’s good!)
be accountable to following through and shifting plans when needed
give and receive kind, constructive, supportive feedback
grow meaningful ways of sharing your passions and interests with others
develop portfolios (including homeschool portfolios) and other avenues for showcasing projects
understand homeschooling requirements for graduation and how your projects and ideas can help you reach graduation
we will also practice countless skills around research, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and design– they’ll happen authentically, embedded into the activities we do together
What’s included?
creative coaching is meant to work for YOU, and it can look a variety of ways. some folks just need an initial session to get their ideas organized and vision steps planned. others want regular check ins and cycles of feedback to keep their creative practice thriving. we can co-create a supportive pathway that can include any of the following:
initial 1-1 session: 1-1 virtual meeting with hannah for initial relationship building and bigger picture goal setting and step planning. participants will bring a vision board of all of their dreamiest ideas to this session where we will organize and map out some action steps.
weekly / biweekly/ monthly virtual sessions: meet regularly for 1 hour to actualize your personal visions and dreams through the consistent practice of agile learning cycles of
setting intentions: defining your goals and turning your visions into actionable plans
creation: taking action on your goals through research, practice, experimentation, and exploration
reflection: learning from the practices and processes of creation to determine what is and is not working well to guide setting new intentions
sharing: sharing your experience with others for feedback and to solidify your learning
unlimited email support between coaching sessions (24-48 hour response time)
end of cycle: participate in end of project cycle deep reflection where you’ll be supported in mapping out what worked and didn’t work, key lessons you learned and can carry forward with you, and celebrate all that was accomplished through the creation cycle.
certificate: if you are using creative coaching to support homeschool requirements, i’ll provide an end-of-cycle certificate to honor the completion of your project/process. this can be included as part of your homeschool portfolio requirements.

reviews
“Hannah is a fantastic creative coach and supported me in the process of creating my most recent video for the Ubuntu Climate Arts and Storytelling Showcase. Hannah helped me to clarify my vision and distill the most important learnings from years of experience as a nomad living on public wilderness lands and years as an environmental organizer in the city. Whenever I experienced a creative block, Hannah listened intently reflecting back and uplifting themes and ideas that felt most resonant with the creative vision I expressed. They bring a joyful and encouraging presence that helped my heart's voice and my diverse experience shine through in my video project. Hannah's support strengthened my confidence in sharing my voice and experience more widely. This was my first time submitting to a video competition, and I ended up winning first place in the youth category! ”

active participation is necessary to get the most out of this experience, but i will never force participation. clients will commit to working with hannah at a pace and rhythm that works for them. hannah will encourage and support the creation of a vision board, the writing of a vision/mission statement, and consistent effort and action towards making goals come alive.

no, you do not need to identify as a creative to join. however, we are all creative beings. choosing what to wear, what to eat, how to spend your time, what music to listen to all come from a creative energy. we want to tap into your creative energy, find out what most wants to be expressed, and support that energy in living more authentically and fully in your life.

yes, this is an excellent option for any teen, whether they are homeschooled, unschooled or schooling in a traditional way. teens are brilliant and deserve to have their ideas and visions honored, celebrated, and supported.
