the river has been calling to me

the river has been calling to me.

its energy is deep,

and dark,

and dense,

and vast.

the water–

it’s heavy and lush.

it flows and balances.

transcends and transmutes.

all encompassing nourishment.

endless possibility.

swirling, its currents

pull me in closer,

to take notice

of what it holds.

i’m listening.

the past, the present, and the future,

all states of matter,

the river moving and rippling,

murmuring a truth,

it almost doesn’t

make sense:

the–

trance like captivation,

the–

contrast of glittering light

peaking, and reaching,

dancing, and pooling,

shadowy waves—

just under the surface,

sirens call our souls home.

i’m listening.

every cell in my body,

attuned and connected,

can almost make

out its message.

a fathomless depth.

intuitive knowing.

i’m listening.

jupiter of philadelphia,

the delaware river,

abundant and expansive,

this water is our life force.

it restores and revitalizes

our bodies, and our minds,

and our spirits.

this water, the very same

water that has always

been on earth

and always will be,

flowed through

our ancestors’ bodies, and their minds,

and their spirits.

their wisdom swirling

just above the surface.

i’m listening.

this water, an energetic container,

holding frequencies, energies, and rhythms,

intuitions, and knowings

that we may not comprehend.

easy to ignore, to bypass,

but we can feel it,

as it drenches our tired, worn out bodies,

inside and outside,

its currents nourish this truth.

i’m listening.

our oppressive systems

have exploited

our life force,

poisoned our well,

muddied our knowing

with pollution and plastic

the source of our wellbeing.

tricked

into severing our connection

from that of which we are made,

dehydrated and disconnected,

we forget:

our survival,

and thriving,

are all wrapped up here,

in this river,

this water,

health

and prosperity.

come to the river

and listen.

remember.

since august 2023, i’ve been speaking messages of hope and change and love and community and care into the delaware river. those messages nourish the bodies and minds and spirits of hundreds of thousands in the city of philadelphia when they turn on their tap.

  • may we bathe ourselves in messages of love and beauty and hope.

  • may we douse ourselves in our wildest dreams.

  • may we drip with abundant gratitude.
